Research school for doctoral students
Cultural center Sofia in Helsinki
Organizer: The Doctoral Programme in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Helsinki
The Doctoral Programme in Theology and Religious Studies at the University of Helsinki invites doctoral candidates and supervisors at ÅAU to the annual theology and religion doctoral seminar in the cultural center Sofia in Helsinki. The working languages are English and Finnish. Registration is due with this link (deadline 17 September, 2025).
The theme this year is “Navigating Your Future: Building Resilience and Career Readiness”.
Here’s a peak into the program:
There are several workshop leaders, and we highlight two in particular: You will have the opportunity to learn from our Career Counselor, Leena Itkonen, who will delve into what career planning might look like for doctoral researchers. With Aura Nortomaa, we will explore techniques for managing ambiguity and stress and building resilience in the face of uncertainty. Whether you are considering a career in academia, industry, or other fields, the program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions about your future. This event offers an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow researchers, share experiences, and gain insights from those who have successfully transitioned into diverse career paths. Participants from Turku, Åbo and UEF will also be joining us again – which is a great asset and a joy!
