Save the date – Seminar: Popularizing Research
Date and time: November 26, 12-17
Place: Astra, Porthansgatan 3
How can we make our research accessible, engaging, and relevant beyond academia?
The Turku Hub for Research on Religion invites researchers and students to a seminar exploring the possibilities and challenges of popularizing research. The program includes talks by, among others, Ann af Burén from Södertörn University, discussions about why, how, and perhaps even why not to popularize research, and examples of different ways of bringing research to wider audiences.
The seminar will also include a hands-on workshop where participants can experiment with ways of popularizing their own research.
A detailed program will be published later this autumn here: https://donnerinstitute.fi/evenemang/seminar-popularizing-research/
The Turku Hub for Research on Religion is a collaborative initiative designed to strengthen interdisciplinary cooperation and enhance visibility among institutions and researchers engaged in the study of religion and theology in the Turku region. Turku hosts a remarkable number of institutes, departments, and academic programs dedicated to these fields. While some collaboration already exists, there lies a clear value in more systematic exchange and joint efforts. Work to establish the hub began in spring 2025.
