MTH SIMON JOHANSSON’S PUBLIC DEFENSE ON 10 APRIL, 2026

The Polin researcher MTh Simon Johansson will defend his thesis within exegetics with the title The Spirit(s) of Isaiah 11:2–3a in Early Jewish and Christian Reception (c. 200 BCE–200 CE): From Royal Charisma to Messianic Endowment, Charismatic Gifts, and the Angelomorphic and Sevenfold Spirit of God.

The opponent is professor John R. Levison, SMU Perkins School of Theology, Dallas, USA and kustos is professor Antti Laato, Åbo Akademi University. 

The lectio precursoria will be presented in Swedish under the title Änglar som förmedlare av andar – i tidig judendom och kristendom. The rest of the defense will be in English.
