Conference venue

The conference is arranged at Åbo Akademi University, Arken, Fabriksgatan/Tehtaankatu 2. All keynote lectures and paper sessions are
arranged in this building.

Presentators

Bring your PowerPoint presentations on an USB memory stick and arrive 10-15 minutes before the beginning of the session in which you have your presentation, so that you have time to download your PowerPoint on conference room PC. That allows us smooth transitions between presentations. If you like, you can also send your presentation in advance to your session leaders.

Keynotes and panel discussion streamed

The keynotes and the panel discussion take place in the auditorium Armfelt (A102). There is place for approx. 170 persons in Armfelt and therefore the keynotes and the panel discussion will be streamed in Helikon (A202, the auditorium above Armfelt).

Lunch and coffee

Lunch is served in Café Arken in Åbo Akademi University’s Arken-building, Fabriksgatan/Tehtaankatu 2, in the same building as the keynotes and paper sessions. The lunches are included in the conference fee.

During the coffee breaks, coffee, tea and snacks are served in the foyer of the Arken-building. These are also included in the conference fee.

Conference dinner at Ukkopekka

On Thursday May 23rd at 19.30, we will go for a cruise on the steamship Ukkopekka to the island of Loistokari in the archipelago outside Turku.
The ship leaves from the Aura River, in front of the restaurant Vaakahuoneen
paviljonki in the address Slottsgatan/Linnankatu 38. There will be pre-ordered buses taking the participants after the panel discussion from Arken to Ukkopekka. For those coming directly to Ukkopekka, please see
the map.

The cruise to Loistokari takes an hour. After arriving at Loistokari at 20.30, we are served a dinner buffet inspired by the Finnish archipelago around. Please note the late dinner – you might want to be prepared with a snack. Please also note that the evening can get cold out at sea so please bring a jacket and comfortable shoes. We return at 23.00.
